What the current Funimals app stores, uses, and requests.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

Funimals is an animal discovery and learning app for children ages 4–12. This page explains the app's current use of local storage, Firebase services, Google Mobile Ads, and the Photos permission. Parents or guardians can contact us at fatihstudios.app@gmail.com with privacy questions.

Information used by the app

Funimals uses Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account identifier. The app does not require a child to enter an email address or password to use this sign-in flow. The identifier helps associate online game scores and family features with the correct app user.

For global leaderboards, the app stores a chosen nickname, score, language, date or update time, and the anonymous player identifier in Cloud Firestore. Leaderboard entries can be read by other app users. Please choose a nickname that does not include a child's real name or contact details.

When family pairing and remote tasks are used, Firestore and Firebase callable Functions handle pairing codes, linked parent/child identifiers, task plans, and task progress so linked devices can share and display that information. Pairing is optional and initiated through the app's family features.

Information kept on the device

Funimals uses local device storage, including UserDefaults/AppStorage, for settings and app state such as selected language, sound preference, game progress, discoveries, daily tasks, and family-feature state. Some data may be cached locally to keep the app's interface and progress consistent.

Firebase services and online content

The app uses Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and callable Cloud Functions for the online features described above. Firebase Storage supplies Fusion Lab catalog data and images that the app can display or download. Firebase App Check, with App Attest in release builds, helps protect access to Firebase-backed features. These services may process technical request information needed to provide and protect their functions.

Ads and rewards

Funimals uses Google Mobile Ads for optional rewarded advertisements tied to specific in-app benefits. A reward is granted only when the ad service reports that the reward was earned. The current iOS app configures ad requests for child-directed treatment and a general maximum content rating. The ad provider may process information needed to serve and measure its ads under its own policies. The current iOS gameplay path does not present automatic interstitial ads.

Photos and sharing

Funimals requests Photos Add-Only access only when someone explicitly chooses to save a Fusion creation to Photos. This permission lets the app add the image; it is not a request to browse the photo library. If permission is denied, saving to Photos is unavailable. Choosing Share opens the device's system share sheet and does not require Photos permission; the destination is selected by the user.
